dumbasses have you ever welded galvinised steel? you have to burn thrugh the galvinising and get all of it up to the surface for it to hold. and dont wory weve had 3 people jumping on it at the same time. it is almost imposible to have half ass good looking welds on galvinised steel and id like to see u weld on some bryce.

I hope you were wearing a mask though...because the fumes that comes off things galvanized are fatal.

here is were i think your gunna have problems(red)goes for both sides) what i think you could do to strengthen you frame(black)but with the black you should do it to both sidesas well)

Shifting - He said he is going to run a lever or something up so that he can shift it.

Your colors are still showing. Don't you know enough to grind off the galvanizing before you weld on it? No wonder those welds look like sh!t...and you could definitely use some extra support on that frame...90 degree joints don't always hold up so well...weld in some more cross braces, and then put in some 3/16" or 1/4" gussets in the corners. Make sure you really put the heat to it so you get good penetration. But don't listen to me if you want, because I only weld on farm equipment that holds up to serious beating. Don't take this is an insult, rather as useful information.

you cant get all the galvinising off of well pipe. its inside and outside and mixed in with the metal. yes i did use a mask and a fan and had all the dores open in the shop when i was welding. there is no way i would use electrical conduet for a gocart frame. the tubing i used is 16 foot well pipe lengths the walls are 1/8th inch thick. and i too weld on farm equiptment and know what it takes to weld lots of metal anything from old rusty sh!t to good stock steel. i had the amprige about 4 on a 6 seting wire feed welder and the wire speed at about 30-40. it is chanle iron for the flat pece and the joints at the botpm of the frame i slid the galvinised pipe into the other pipe about 8 inches. the only stuf i used off of the swing set was a litle pece of the slide for a skid plate the rest of the cart is the old cart or well pipe or milker stanson head holder pipe. last night i went out and started doing strength tests with a 1 inch rachet strap and a tapemesure. i mesured from point to point and wrote theose down and then started pulling on difernt parts whre you people have expresed concern and i ended up braking my good rachet strap and would take mesurements ass i went and they didnt change.i then got out the big 2 inch rachet and the only place that moved was behind the center o the top where it goes doen to the back they can 1/16 of a inch closer to eachother and the two side gards ( the outside rails that are there to bounce off of trees and keep your legs in) moved about a 1/2 inch when i pulled them twards eachother but not when i pulled them down. the only part that i am concerned about is underneath the moter on the front mount. that is about the only part that i might brace. the frame is in sections so if one pece bends i can jist take it out and replace the bad parts and suport it if it does bend. and i am going to have shifter lincage come up to a jockey shift which will have the clutch on it.

the motor mount is the thing that i think would be the first to break.. but I still think that i would support what i showed just for the reason i take sh!t to extreme and beat it.. i will jump anything..
