What do you folks consider is needed to make the perfect mx track.... What do you like to see in the track design and what don't you like seeing in the track design. Besides just the track... what amenities do you like seeing, such as bike washes, food stands, extra...
If you were to design your own perfect track , had an unlimited budget, and wanted to make the track/park user friendly what would it have... also what do you hate seeing at a track?

My perfect track would have the most perfectly maintained track...workers always watering and fixing anything....pizza stands...gatorade machines...bike washes...bathrooms...a good sized parking lot where there was a unloading ramp so you just back up to it...the best dirt for the track...bunch of mexicans for manual labor...and i think thats about it..i hate seeing rocks at tracks..and i hate riding on tracks that are hard as a rock...some need to be tilled and watered more...i also hate dust and mud.

about the best track would be one with some good size jumps, rithem section, good banked corners, sprinkler sysem and a way to keep the track from geting flooded and be able to keep the track lose so it dosnt form a hard pan like a oval track. for amenitys id say some good bathroms/ showers, a conseson stand and lots of parking.

How would you feel about paying a slightly higher than normal entry fee to race at a track that was state of the art, i.e.... locker room / showers for racers, medical center, comfortable stands under cover, computerized scoring and infomation display boards, a good pa and lighting system, blacktop, cement, or other hard surface in the pit area with electric & water going to each pit spot.
I'm also thinking for the people that don't race but go to watch or with family and friends. A entertainment area for non-riders, concessions that sell more than hotdogs, hambugers, and nachos... grandstands that are protected for the weather and dust/dirt, a flea market area for people to sell parts, bikes ect...
In otherwords a Motocross track that would be on the standards of a Nascar track... a first class, top knotch operation.

My perfect track would have lots of elevation changes(much like brookston) with a variation between loamy dirt and sand, nice ruts in the loamy parts and tall berms in the sand, not to many do or die jumps......like the old days of bombing over a hill and catching air off that.

I thank ya'll for your input on the track design... I'd leave that to the professionals. What I want to know is what do you look for or would like to see around the track... i.e. the pits, consessions, grand stands. Are you happy with a dirt field with park where you like pits or do / would you prefered a black-topped area with pit spaces marked out ? Are you happy with just setting up a lawn chair along the fence or would you rather see a enclosed grand stand. Does the amenties of the mx park matter to you or do all you care about is how high the jumps are and how long the whoops are?
Sounds me to that I could build a track in the middle of the city dump and youz would be happy as long as the track was rock free with insane triples and places for big air time.

Haha, well a track is a track...its a place to ride, but I know what your trying to get at. I personally would like it to stay old school around the tracks like normal dirt pit area and lawn chairs and things like that because bringing cement and steel into the mx track area kind of ruins the whole thing. I think the outlet hookups would be a great idea if the person paid for it and then you turned it on for them for the day or whatever...that would eliminate all the noisy generaters running all night for people in tents. A nicely maintained track with safe jumps that would be fun for all ages and has good amenties would actually be my perfect place..just go with what you think or get some imput from riders around your area to see what they think. Good luck.

the only problem w/black top and cement is it just raises the heat...when i go to a race and its like 100+ the whole weekend the last thing i want is to pull into a pit w/cement/blacktop...grandstand would be nice it would pull more money into our sport because more spectators would come other wise for me its 100% track...but i will ride ne thing where theres a race lol
