im not going to race it because i dont want to gear it for ice racing unless i can run it in a small class because it wont have a lot of hookup on ice(121" paddle track) im going to gear it low for holeshot....its basically going to be just a trail race sled and a ditchbanger, but i might take it to a vintage run to show some of those other guys whats up.,..i want to be able to roll up next to anybody and theyre thinking oh look at this old piece of sh!t until they eat snowdust...i imagine that if it's tuned right and has some light engine mods on it that it will be able to take an f7 off the line, but im planning to add as much stuff as possible to it as i get more money and have more time to work on it......

well if your wanting a 600cc motor i would take the new 600 H.O. but if your getting a used one i would take the triple and if u want to take a F7 off the line you must gear it... i personaly would do the 440 gearing it will take ne thing till 60. thats what i am doing with my 500. but if you have ne more questions let me know.

i am thinkin 600 minimum....and i know that if i use a 600 i will have to gear it low, i talked to a guy who geared his sled (i think it was an ultra 680) to 440 spec and he said he could go from 0-90 like nothin but the top end was slow to creep up, thats the kind of power i want, for engines i might use anything up to a 1000 Tcat depending on what i can find and price, a 1000 in the little tube frame would be crazy.....but yeah basically plans are make it as big as possible and lots of low end....i know im not going to be buying a new 600 h.o. engine, its not worth it for me to buy new for this project because in the end i would rather have a used engine with tons of mods over a new engine with none...its going to be one of those projects thats never really done

oh hey your firecat sled is sweet, i cant wait until i can do mine then maybe sometime i could dream about racing something like what u got...awesome we got a lot of sledheads on here...
yah travis the vintage sleds r easy to tip but if u think about it they are narrow just like the revs are now...plus i started on a vintage and im used to riding standing up so its basically perfect for me...i cant imagine waht it wil be like either besides looks but i know that with a big engine in it like that it will have no problem making other sleds look BAD

I like riding snowmobiles when you get enough snow to make jumps and enough battery to camcorder!! we got some pretty good stuff this winter when we got a foot of snow.

it wasn't even a pond.....the sherriff didn't know what he was talking about at all. Thats what you get when your town elects a fat lazy sherriff.
