This weeks Tech Tip will be about proper periodic maintenance for your 2 stroke and 4 stroke. 2 Stroke-Clean air filter after every ride if you ride in dusty area's, its always safe to just do it everyride. Refer to the air filter topic for proper cleaning. -Clean your carberator before your first ride, a few times during the season, and after your last ride so it is clean for storage. -Wash your bike, there are many people that never wash their bikes good and it causes the frame and all the linkage and stuff to get dirt stained. It doesn't take that much time and everyone knows its super fun -Start your bike or ride it around your yard once a week if you don't plan to go to the track that weekend so that it keep different gas in the carb and it keeps everything running smooth. -Tighten your spokes often, it doesn't take but 5 minutes to tighten down your spokes to make sure they are tight. So do it. -Check all your bolts often to see if any are loose or missing. -Check Tire Pressure -Check your oil level, change it every 25 hours. -Check your compression often, replace your piston and rings if it drops below spec. -Keep your chain tight and lubed -Check your Forks for leaky seals or damage. Feel free to reply to this post if I missed anything, i didnt have a whole lot of time to type this up. Next week we will talk about 4 stroke maintenance.
